A fairly wise man once said, “Necessity is the mother of invention.” Churros, a traditional Spanish fried dough treat, were originally invented by shepherds, who replaced fresh baked goods with churros because they were easy to fry up while working in the mountains of Spain. Essentially, they were among the first “eat on the run” snacks, created, ironically, by the high-pressure, fast-paced world of… shepherds.
So take a moment from your busy day to visit one of the sweetest spots in the Park, Le Churreria. At this churro shop (the only one in Midtown, as far as we know), you’ll find these confections served up fresh and hot, covered in whatever sumptuous topping you choose, from chocolate to whipped cream to cinnamon sugar.
The next time you’re due for a snack siesta, head to Le Churreria for your sure-to-be new favorite indulgence. Ole!
